The Situation
On a clear day in San Francisco, its hard not to notice the dozens of boats sailing blissfully across the waters of the Bay. Unfortunately, this also makes it hard to ignore that nagging feeling that maybe you and your friends are missing out on some fundamental part of Bay area living. But without a boat, what's a landlocked posse to do?
The Lowdown
SF Sailing Company makes learning to sail easy, convenient, and fun. Their Basic Keelboat Sailing Level One course is an introduction to the world o' water that emphasizes hands-on boat and seamanship experience. That means less time docked in the marina and more time enjoying the adventures on the Bay. Each boat accommodates up to 4 students, so the two-day lesson is perfect for a group of sailing newbies who want to take the ropes into their own hands. During the first 6-hour session, you'll learn how to set up a sailboat and steer on a desired course. By the end of the second day, you'll be able to handle all the maneuvers required to get a boat to pretty much anywhere you want to go. After you complete the course, you'll be prepared to advance to Basic Keelboat Sailing Two and San Francisco Sailing Company's nationally-recognized sailing certification.
Worried that you and your peeps aren't quite hip to the sailing culture? Don't be. These lessons are 100% pretentious-free. No snobbery or country-club references allowed. SF Sailing Company has over 10 years of experience bringing this once exclusive pastime to people from all walks of life, and their simple, yet thorough methods of instruction can make even the most land-loving among you find their sea legs. So take this chance to join three of your closest friends on a sailing adventure. There is no better way to experience the magic of the Bay.
HomeRun Insider Tip:
Wear close-toed shoes, clothing you don't mind getting wet, and bring a sweater or jacket. It can get a little chilly out there.
Forward it to a friend who's new to HomeRun. We'll track it. If they buy, you win!
